New Couch

Like I said before the boxes had to go. Who decorates with boxes anyways? I have unpakced most of the boxes, only 8 remain. And with that made room for a couch......and a chair......and an ottoman! I found just the right ones. Not too plush that you become the couch when sitting. Not too firm that it feels like it is made of wood. But perfect. And it was a great deal. I later found out that it is actually leather! Not shiny leather, but a soft brushed leather. And red.

These are pictures from my phone...I haven't yet uploaded pictures from my camera. But I didn't want anyone to freak out about a red leather couch! See it is very nice isn't it?
Just nod and say yes...

It's like Christmas in March

My "pod" was delivered Friday evening. I can't say that I did the best packing job around because most of the boxes were ready to jump out when I opened the doors. However, not a single thing is broken. Some things do have rub marks, but they come off with a damp rag.

I still have no couch, but now that my house is filled with boxes, I have no place to put one yet. I have discovered that I am a pack rat. After not seeing all this stuff for 10 months, I am finally ready to get rid of a majority of the stuff. I already got rid of a small bookcase and a pizza cutter... :)

And of course all the excitement has upset Chester, yet again. This morning I found him sleeping in a trash bag. (Don't be fooled, he still has full access to my bed and his cat tree!)

My new (grown-up) purchase

Oh my goodness! I must be growing up...

I bought a brand new dining room table and chairs. It was a great deal and it is exactly what I have been wanting for a few years.

Anyone want to come for dinner tonight? :)

Hakeem and I at Johnson Space Center (NASA)

It finally happened...

I met a wonderful man. His name is Hakeem. He began his job with SMT (the same company that I work for) on the same day that I did. I met him about two weeks ago in a training class held in the Houston office. The unfortunate part is that he works in the London office and I work in the Houston office. So nothing is too serious yet, just getting to know each other and seeing if this will be something serious.

I will post a few pictures of our sightseeing in Houston in a day or two. Till then....
